TRENCHCOAT

The world is fucked, but you're worse. TRENCHCOAT is a colorful, loud, and fast-paced shooter. Gun down guys in business suits and their stupid, Green-Tied bosses. Paint the walls of this random office building in the blood of your enemies. But most importantly, have fun!

Game

You can pick up three different weapons off of corpses. No reloading, though, you'll have to toss your guns Hotline-Miami style. Additionally, you can kick enemies in the face for maximum carnage. Kicking is also useful for knocking down doors. You can holster your gun for stealth or let it talk for killing. If you get roughed up, don't worry. Pressing [P] while holstered lets you heal with the power of God. Each level requires that you find the 'Target' for that floor and then kill him. Once dead, the exit elevator will open up for you. There are only seven levels, but don't worry: this isn't the last you'll be hearing from TRENCHCOAT!

Inspiration

I guess you could say I was influenced by a variety of things. I've always loved the idea of guys in business suits doing violent stuff. Pulp Fiction, Men in Black, Goodfellas, you get the picture. As far as gameplay goes, I really wanted this to be a sort of Hotline Miami-Cruelty Squad hybrid (although I know this isn't as good as either of those). I also borrowed the idea of prayer-based healing from a game called Goblet Grotto.

I borrowed some tracks from bands I really like. I am in the process of asking for permission to use these. Regardless, I am not intending to earn any money from this game, so I hardly think I'm in any legal trouble. All artwork was done by me.

Future Plans

In the future, I am planning on commissioning some art and music. This is, of course, long-term and only in the event of actual success from this game. I am also planning on producing more levels as well as more enemy types and weapons. More energy drinks, more decorations, more, more, more.
